Ron M. on Competition and Mentorship

Bob was truly a mentor and hero to me and, even after many years I still think of him often. We were competitors for a long time and, believe me, he was the most formidable of competitors. One of the greatest memories of my life was in his office at SS/L in January of 1993 - the day I joined SS/L after many years of being a competitor , we talked for hours about many subjects and past competitions, and at the end he said to me "this is really going to be fun", and it was! That comment embodies Bob's greatness, he is one of the finest men I have ever known and I am a much better person for knowing and associating with him. The world needs more Bob Berry's and he will be much missed
